Hello
everyone,
My
sincere apologizes for not writing for so long!!! I hope everyone's been well
:)
So
what have I been up to? Well... for the past month, I've been quite occupied
with many things both with my academics, extra curricular activities and on
campus involvement activities. It's been really hectic because not only do we
have to take 6 commerce courses per term but also Commerce students are
expected to be active in the community (which means lots of volunteering and sports!
).
So
the 6 courses I'm currently taking are:
Comm290
Quantitative decision-making and analysis
Comm292
Organizational behavior
Comm293
Financial Accounting
Comm295
Managerial Economics
Comm299
Business Communication and Public Speaking
Comm391
Management Information Technology
I'm
done with 4 midterms so I only have two more to go J
The
upcoming one's Comm295, which is going to be on Monday so wish me luck lol. (I
need it! lol)
Now
enough with my silly excuses for not updating for so long!
This
time I want to take some time to talk about what campus life at UBC is like with
focus on FOOD available on campus; yes an essential part of college life lol. Yes
I admit I LOVE to spend money on food.
So....
the UBC campus is located in Vancouver Canada.
The campus is very green and has many buildings that look like historical
architecture including the Irving K Learning center library, which looks like
one of the typical European or British castles from the 17th century
lol.
I'd
really like to upload some pictures that I took a couple of days ago but
unfortunately I forgot my usb cable for my camera in Japan so I'm unable to
upload my pics. (sorry about that). If you're interested you can try visit this
site to check out what our campus is like on the UBC website J
There are many
types of food available on campus; some of which are; Chinese food, Japanese
food, Korean food, American food (I'm talking about burgers fries and oily
chicken drumsticks) and Russian food. The student population is pretty diverse
here so I guess there is demand for many different kinds of cuisines.
There are a fair
number of places that offers Japanese food but most of the food they offer, in
my opinion, is kind of fake ......(I guess I'm picky with Japanese food because I'm
Japanese). Especially with the sushi they sell here,,,,, what bothers me is
that the people making the sushi put too much rice under the fish. It sometimes
feels as thought I'm eating a rock with some fish. The people making it shape
the rice too firmly lol. However, I must say that some of the rolls they have
are good. My favorite at the moment is the BBQ eel roll, which is a roll with
Unagi, avocado, cucumber and some other fish inside. Considering the prices,
the sizes are quite large and satisfying. As economists say, you got to get
your "bang for the buck" lol.
Speaking of
which, it seems that the people who live here are quite fond of the all you can
eat sushi bars here and there are a fair number of them in the Vancouver area.
These all you can eat sushi restaurants offer Korean BBQ and sometimes even
Chinese food so even if you are not a big sushi fan, I would recommend you
visit one of those places if you happen to drop by Vancouver!
Thanks for
reading
Have a great day
Daiki

Daiki,
I can tell from your entry that you have been leading a worthwhile time there in Canada. Glad to know. BTW, I think you can upload photos taken from your celler phone on to this blog. Send some Keitai photos via email to your address of your PC. Save it on to a file, and you may upload the photos on to the blog via the file. Try it when time allows.
